Last weekend was my 5 year reunion at Cottey College (a two-year women's college in MO). It was ridiculously fun! I flew into St. Louis to meet my best friend Kait and our friend Kristen trained down from Chicago. Then we road tripped across the state through Columbia to see some friends, and Kansas City to visit our fellow classmate, Kali, who had a baby just 6 weeks ago! He was very cute and made many funny dolphin noises that I didn't know babies could make :)
7 hours later we were in Nevada, MO - where Cottey is located and where I went to high school. We stayed with my wonderful grandmother who made tons of cookies and brownies for us. Then the reunion craziness commenced! I saw so many women who I love so much and haven't talked to or seen in years. It reminds me that I need to be a better friend and keep in touch for reals!
So many of my classmates are now married, have kids, or are pregnant (again). I found it funny (as I always do) that my closest friends and I are no where near the married/babies/houses phase of our lives. I guess we're just a little "different" ;)
There was lots of amazing food, singing, LAUGHING HYSTERICALLY, love, and tears. My face hurt from all of the laughter and I suddenly realized that I just don't have enough of that in my life right now. I need more happy! I'm hoping that moving back to Winston Salem will help with that, but I know that nothing will ever quite compare to the friendship that I have with these amazing women.
I can't wait for our 10 year reunion!
I'll post pictures from this weekend tomorrow.
