That's my only excuse for this lengthy absence! That and oh-so-many life changes.
1. Patrick and I decided to move back to Winston Salem, NC
2. Went to Maui/Oahu to visit my family and celebrate my sister graduating from college.
3. I got a job at Mullen Advertising As an Assistant Communications Planner!!!! Word.
4. Pat and I moved in together... it was an adventure to say the least :)
5. My good friend Cindia asked me to read in her wedding and host her bridal shower and bachelorette party. (She has some bridesmaid issues)
To summarize, we've been pretty preoccupied with the process of moving and starting our lives anew.
I also got some amazing news just before my last day at my Savannah job - I had being hired as an assistant communications planner at Mullen Advertising - my dream company since I graduated from college! It was incredibly exciting and as the cherry I was getting quite a pay increase :) I've been there for 7 weeks and so far I'm in love with the job. And the perks are great too! For example, every Thursday at 4pm they give out free beer and popcorn to get you through the rest of the afternoon, we regularly get yummy treats like gelato and candy, plus there is a plethora of magazines to read, which I love. Not to mention I can finally afford health insurance! It's definitely been a dream come true and I see myself there for a long time to come.
Another major change (not for me personally) was my sister's graduation from the University of Hawai'i - Manoa. It was fun, even with some family drama, to get to be with my mom and sis for a few weeks in a place I always think of as a home. And it was wonderful to see my sister accomplish something so great!

After getting back I had about 3 days to finish packing and get my affairs in order to move. Very hectic!
It's been wonderful and exciting and amazing to see so many old friends, but man have we been exhausted! We found a great little 2 bedroom apartment to call our own and on June 1st we moved in and began making it a home. One of our favorite things is that we now have a studio/office space for all of Patrick's many instruments and my enormous collection of crafty objects. It's wonderful! Action Jackson loves it too!
Just moved in... completely exhausted.

After some minor transformations

Of course, Patrick was ready to stop unpacking once the drums were set up :) His new set after 2 years of no drums. Unfortunately he can't really play them in the apartment.
There have been quite a few more changes and adjustments since the first week when these iPhone pics were snapped, but I suppose a home is constantly in flux and changing.

My good friend Cindia is getting married in just two weeks and she asked me to help with the bridal shower (she has some less than enthusiastic brides maids and needed a hand). Of course, I was more than happy to help and I always love throwing a party!
The bride clearly had a blast, and even though I was well under the weather with one of the worst colds I've ever had - and no voice - I loved helping her with this fun little part of her journey to wife-hood! Now I have to get the bachelorette party organized and practice my reading for the wedding! Oh, and find a killer dress too.
To conclude, my apologies for the extra long absence and for the extra long catch up post, but I had to share all of the wonderful things life has brought our way recently. I promise not to stay away so long this time.
Your friend in blogdom,
Crissy
